Can you believe, Derby loves fruits! All kinds.
I was so surprised the first time I discovered his passion for fruits. I was eating an apple and he started begging for some. He usually doesn’t beg for food, and I was not sure what was going on. So, I just gave him a small piece to show him it’s not something he would like, but to my total amazement, he ate it and asked for more.
Since then we have discovered that he loves cherries, strawberries, and mellons. But his absolute favorites are watermelons and apples.
He is so funny with his special personality.

I believe that Derby likes fruit! I had a GSP and she loved all foods including Corn on the cob! I have a wonderful picture of her eating right from the cob… I need to find that picture!

My GSP/Lab also loves fruit, especially apples.

LOL try giving him a grape and see how he manages THAT! all of my GSPs have liked various fruits (one, who we always surmised was half dog, half pig, would shake the apple and orange trees till the fruit fell on his head, so he could eat without interruption), but my akita growing up preferred cantaloupe and grapes. even if he had trouble managing the grapes in his mouth - they kept popping out!
