2/28/08: Gemma is recovering from her spay with more energy every day. She’s enjoying long walks, and playtime with Otis (our GSP). She is able to communicate when she needs to go outside for potty. Gemma is very easy-going, and allowed me to give her a bath, clean her ears, and trim her nails. This dog is very affectionate, and trusting of others, as she has made many friends throughout our neighborhood.

Well, Nelly didn’t last long, she’s already been adopted!
Whiskey has made himself quite at home, here he is snoozin’ on top of his foster sister, and keeping part of an eye on the “action!”

Gemma is so happy to be out of the shelter and into her foster home!
2/25/08 Gemma has been with us for a few days now. She has so quickly acclimated to our household. She was spayed just a few days ago but is already bouncing back with energy and enthusiasm. She loves to cuddle and be cuddled and has the softest fur ever. She gets along great with our GSP; they play well and share toys. She’s not food aggressive, is crate-trained and is responding well to basic training. Her moniker suits her because she is truly a “gem.”
Dougal looking around, while his foster brother covers his back!
Checking out around the canoe.
Lots of good stuff to sniff here!
And now for a well-deserved rest, on the couch, of course!

This is Audi, a male GSP mix.

And this is his sister, Liebe.

These pups are currently undergoing treatment for mange and parvo, and should recover nicely. Stay tuned to watch their progress!
