Grace

Grace’s eye looks pretty decent.  It’s a little cloudy from her old injury, and will need gentle cleaning from time to time.  She’s very good about being handled - a good thing since she’s had plenty of prodding and poking at the vet!  She takes her post-surgical meds very nicely, making it easy for her foster home to care for her.

And not much else yet!  She’s only allowed brief walks for potty.

Grace is safely in her foster home and is doing quite well following extensive surgery. She had some extra time under anesthesia because there was so much to do to repair both the bladder and all the surrounding tissue, and she was spayed at the same time. We think she’s already looking much better!

Grace would like to thank everyone who has sponsored her or donated towards her care.

Sweet Grace is a favorite of the shelter staff.  She looks older than her estimated age of 6 - 8 because she hadn’t been receiving good care wherever she was before she came to the shelter.  Her left eye was damaged in an old injury - it doesn’t cause her any pain and it does not need further medical attention.  Look at the size of her lump!  We were concerned it might be a tumor and that the best we might be able to offer her would be a warm foster home, but fortunately it’s a surgically repairable hernia.  Its size and location makes it a little tricky but the vet felt that Grace’s chances were good for a full recovery.  Left untreated, she would continue to get infections and the shelter would most like euthanize her.

Help us help Grace by donating to her Medical Fund today.  Thank you.
