Here’s Hendrix playing with Tippy, the small plush Pointer available through our rescue store at www.norcalgsprescuestore.com.  I think they are about the same size! 

Hendrix had a good time at Christmas.  My daughter dressed him up with holiday ribbon.  He spent the day with everyone, getting lots of attention.  So much attention that he finally fell asleep in his basket under the dining room table.

Mary met Hendrix today and I wasn’t sure she was going to let go of him!  Mary has adopted GSPs from us, and she just loves them.

Now he has to try to get the hamburger toy.  Krista is supporting his back legs to help him try to push.

Here he’s able to work his back legs since the water helps support his body weight.  What fun!  By the end of his session he was all tired out, and had a good nap.

Hendrix had his first physical rehabilitation appointment today.  This is his therapist, Krista.  She’s doing an assessment, checking out his range of motion, strength, reflexes.  She’s seeing if he can use his back legs when his body is supported.

She feels optimistic that he can make some progress, because he does have some voluntary movement in his rear legs.

Hendrix gets some electrical stimulation, getting the message from the muscles to the brain and back.  We also got a home program with lots more things to work on at home.  Hendrix was exhausted at the end of his session - that therapy stuff is hard work!

When he’s awake, he likes to play. Here he’s having a good wrestling match with a towel.

He’s definitely alert and attentive!

Hendrix is the newest and smallest boy on the block.  Right now he’s doing a lot of eating and sleeping.  Let’s hope he gains the strength he needs!
